Dutch Apple Pie

Serves: 6-8 servings
- 9-inch regular pie crust, thawed
- 3- Heaping Cups Coloma Frozen Foods Sliced & Spiced Apples, thawed
- Cinnamon, to taste
- 8-ounce box Calhoun Blend Mill Apple Crisp Mix
- 4 ounces applesauce
- 4 Tablespoons butter, melted
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- With a fork, poke holes in the bottom of the pie crust (about 20 sets).
- Bake pie crust for 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
- While the pie crust is baking, mix the thawed Sliced & Spiced Apples with the applesauce.
- Transfer the apple mixture to the baked pie crust.
- Heavily sprinkle cinnamon on top of the apple mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix the Apple Crisp Mix with the melted butter. (Mixture will be lumpy.)
- Sprinkle the Apple Crisp mixture on top of the apple mixture in the pie crust
- Bake 30-35 minutes, until top of pie is golden brown.
- You can find a pre-made pie crust in the freezer section of your grocery store. Thaw it completely (about 3 hours) before you bake it.
- You can also use a refrigerated pie crust, or make your own pie crust.
- The frozen apples need to be thawed before using in this pie. The apples will thaw in approximately 3 hours at room temperature.
- For a deeper colored crust, sprinkle cinnamon on top after baking.
